You cannot avoid negative situations, they end up happening. What matters is how can we counteract the negative effect on our lives and on our attitudes? The Power of Positive thought process aids us to stay positive even in the midst of tragedy. Learning this Power of Positivity in negative situations is Invaluable.
So, here are 6 ways through which you can cultivate the Power of Positive thinking and lead a healthy lifestyle.
Mentally Reframe the Situation
It all begins inside your head, how you think of a difficult situation? Instead of victimising yourself like “Why was I betrayed in the end?” “Why did I end up losing?” “Why does shit happen with me all the time?” consider changing the thought process to “What could I’ve done better?” “Why didn’t I take a step back in the first place”? By doing so, what we do is take back control of the situation by posing these questions and then figuring out the way to go about in those situations. Reframing and then taking action will make you feel less anxious and in-turn increase your self-confidence.
Surround Yourself with Positive People
The biggest factor in regards to determining your behaviour. The company you stay with! When life throws lemon at you, make the best lemonade. When things are not going well, it can be hard to stay positive on your own but if your friend-circle or the ones you stay with are negative or pessimist then not only will they scrap off even an inch of positive thought from your head but also, they will stuff you with full of negativity.
Usually what to do is AVOID the negativity! Their negative attitude will only bring you down and be counterproductive to what you are trying to achieve. Practicing Positive thinking is good for your Mental Health and soul.
Unplug: Detach Yourself.
As I’ve said before too, ME TIME is very important, detach yourself from all the screens in your life, be it Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TV, computer, prolly music too. Taking time out for yourself ALONE or seeing your mates, heals you. Usually they say being lonely makes you weak, but being lonely and talking to yourself STRENGTHENS you to rise from the negativity and brings in more acceptance within you. Too much of socialising or social media can have a negative impact on your Mental health and on you too. Be kind to yourself, and listen to your thoughts. Step away when you need to step away.
Express what you are grateful for.
There are good times and there are bad times. Even in the worst of times, we still things in our lives that we are grateful for. Be it our soulmate, or your BFF or can be your pet animal too or it could be any object. Voice those blessings! Be thankful for what you have. Share the feeling or gratitude amongst your closest friends, your support group. By doing so, you tend to create a soothing vibe and a very positive vibe. This vibe then keeps your heart blooming and your mind healthy as you have the right approach towards bad things.
Accept and find solutions.
I’ve talked about this a lot and in almost all my posts I try to mention acceptance. We are resistant or reluctant to change the Cliché. What we must do is learn to accept that change. “The only constant in life is CHANGE.”
There’s a lot of weightage in that thought. Situations happens, either they’re good or they’re or they’re worse. Try to accept that and accept the change, I know its easier said than done but this will make you bigger Human and in turn you’ll attain a lot of understandings towards situations. In case, you’re falling short in attaining the power of acceptance, do it right here.
This is one thing that I’ve been doing since a very long time that never overestimate what you are going to achieve. For instance, if you’re started to share your life with one of your friends, don’t expect that they’ll share theirs with you. If they do, that’s very good but if they don’t then it doesn’t hurt you as you never estimated that they’ll share their life with you. This don’t mean that you lose all the expectations, this means you estimate less and when it happens more than expected, you’ll feel very good about it and in case if it doesn’t then there’s no reason to be sad as you never thought about it!
