A small tribute to the LGBT Community.

LGBT Community

Previously on The Soul Talks, I had mentioned about emotional breakdowns. How I go about them, what all I do to get over it and had also mentioned view points on it. in case, you’ve missed the article, here’s the link: http://thesoultalks10.com/three-easy-ways-to-get-out-of-emotional-breakdowns/

Today, I proudly declare my country while writing this as a LGBT free country. On September 6th, 2018 prolly around 13:00, the Supreme Court of India legalised Gay sex in landmark ruling as they declared Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code: Unconstitutional.

LGBT Community

The Supreme Court of India have just not legalised Gay-marriage but promoted humanity. All the struggles that the LGBT community has suffered, all the hardships that they’ve gone through, they can now breathe a sign of relief. They can now sit back and enjoy their rights.

Don’t you think it took too long for it to happen? But, I feel finally it happened. It must’ve taken so much efforts and so much working on the section 377 of the Indian Penal Code to witness the decision made by the Supreme Court back on Thursday.

Over the last decade, LGBT community have gained more and more acceptance in India, especially in big cities. Saying that, most of the LGBT people have remained in the closet, fearing discrimination from their families who might see homosexuality as a shameful act. There have been instances of honour killings, attacks, ruthless beatings of the members of the LGBT community and also regular tortures. These usually happens in the rural areas and was seen in some sections of the urban where LGBT people often face rejection from their families and forces opposite-sex marriages

I feel they deserve it and to them I would like to give a small tribute which goes as:

All the controlled love now released,

Holding hands together with ease.

The disruptive mind will not bear more pain,

The efforts taken by the community didn’t go in-vain.

They’re part of us, please don’t ignore,

Its time for them to put their step-forward and ROAR.

Its not the time to hide behind the door,

Show us the love you’ve got; The World needs More.

Crystal Clear skies taking over dark clouds,

Come out in open, speak what you feel: LOUD.

Could be happier as the end of the day: Love Wins.

  1. You’ve penned your thoughts here beautifully. I’d just like to point out that currently gay sex or homosexuality has been decriminalized. The dream of gay marriage being legal is still far away. Either way, being allowed to exist legally is a huge step indeed and that deserve a lot of appreciation.

    1. This was in appreciation to the law which was declared unconstitutional. Its a long way and might go a generation for full fledged freedom but the seed has been sown. Thank you for your wonderful views!

  2. It is a landmark judgement.

  3. Amazing! I just hope people finally open up their hearts and accept the love as it is!

    1. Kriti you know I feel that slowly and steadily people will start accepting them as a part of us. Many of us have already accepted but there are a lot who are in the transition phase. I feel with constant effort and with awakening soon the day will arrive.

I'd Love to know Your thoughts!
